The Hoppers Set to Shine at Arise 2025
Get ready for an unforgettable evening of music and celebration as the popular American southern gospel group, The Hoppers, takes the stage at the inaugural Arise 2025 event. Scheduled for Sunday, April 20, at the National Arena, this performance promises to be a highlight of the Kingsway High School alumni reunion, which runs from April 16 to April 22.
Joining The Hoppers will be an impressive lineup of local talent, including Gospel Proclaimers, H.U.M.B.L.E., Carey Sayles, Veronica Nicholson Reid, and the Kingsway Alumni Reunion Voices. Each group brings its unique flavor to the stage, ensuring a diverse and uplifting experience for all attendees.
Dale Flynn, the event consultant for Arise 2025, shared his vision for the gathering. “The main aim is to use the event as a conduit of holistic transformation through education that shapes the mental, physical, and spiritual faculties that result in nation- and kingdom-building,” he explained. Flynn believes that the event will help realign values that have shifted too far from their roots, impacting homes, schools, and communities across Jamaica.
A special highlight of Arise 2025 is the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Gospel Proclaimers, a group that originated at Kingsway High School. Former lead singer Leroy Gibbons, who now resides in Canada, will return for this momentous occasion, adding a touch of nostalgia to the festivities.
So, why The Hoppers? Flynn elaborated, “The Hoppers is a multi-award-winning family gospel group whose music has endeared and impacted audiences worldwide, including Jamaicans. They’ve been a staple in the renowned Gaither’s Homecoming Series, and songs like ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Shouting Time’ are sung by almost every group or choir at thanksgiving or celebration services. This will be their first time in Jamaica, and fans will be traveling from near and far to enjoy an awesome evening.”
But Arise 2025 is more than just a concert; it’s also a fundraising opportunity aimed at giving back to education. The alumni association is targeting 80 scholarships, continuing mentorship programs, and improvements to the physical plant at Kingsway High School. Flynn emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “We want to ensure that the next generation has the resources they need to succeed.”
Attendees can expect a night filled with praise and worship across various musical genres. “We are aiming for a great production where God will be glorified, and patrons will leave satisfied,” Flynn assured. The atmosphere will be electric, with the audience joining in the spirit of celebration and community.
As the countdown to Arise 2025 begins, excitement is building. Will you be part of this historic event? With The Hoppers headlining and a mission to uplift and inspire, it’s an evening you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars and prepare for a night of joy, music, and meaningful connections!
