Caribbean Mega Bounce: Bringing Joy Back to Jamaica
Children across Jamaica are in for a treat this holiday season as Caribbean Mega Bounce returns, bringing with it the region’s largest touring inflatable theme park. Set to take place at the Bridgeport Cricket Club in Portmore and Brooks Park in Mandeville, this event promises to create a joyful atmosphere that many have been craving after the challenges posed by Hurricane Melissa.
Kirkland “Bounce Bawse” Kelly, the mastermind behind Mega Bounce, expressed his initial hesitance to stage the event. “We were hesitant to stage Mega Bounce, but the parish council, Government, and an overwhelming band of supporters asked us to go ahead,” he shared. “After the disaster of Hurricane Melissa, it does feel like people want back some joy as we continue to go through recovery.” His words resonate deeply, reflecting the community’s desire for a return to normalcy and happiness.
A Commitment to Community
Kelly and his team have not only focused on bringing fun but have also been actively involved in relief efforts. “We’ve already helped so many people without posting. So you may not see us being active on the philanthropy scene, but we are there and we are committed to helping,” he assured. This commitment to community support is evident in their plans to provide transportation for families most affected by the hurricane, allowing them to join in the festivities free of charge. “We want them to at least feel the Christmas spirit, and this is our way of doing that,” Kelly added.
Bigger and Better
The Mega Bounce team is excited to return to Jamaica, especially after their successful debut at Hope Gardens last April. “Jamaica is home. It’s where we started out with our historic first staging in the region,” Kelly noted. The upcoming event on December 26 and 27 promises an improved setup, ensuring that families can enjoy an even more thrilling experience.
Debbie Smith-Walker, a member of Team Mega Bounce, shared that part of the proceeds from the Portmore showings and the Mandeville appearance on January 4, 2026, will go towards ongoing relief efforts. This initiative highlights their dedication to giving back to the community that has supported them.
A Caribbean Adventure
Since its launch in Jamaica, Mega Bounce has embarked on a Caribbean tour, making stops in Barbados, Guyana, and Antigua. The response has been overwhelming, with Kelly reporting turnouts of over 10,000 people in various locations. “We have to give all glory to God because it has been amazing,” he said. “The unique thing about Mega Bounce is that it appeals to everyone — all ages and sizes — so everybody wanted to come and experience it.”
The joy and laughter that Mega Bounce brings are palpable, with families expressing how it was the best day ever. The inflatable theme park has become a beacon of happiness, reminding everyone that fun knows no age limits.
Looking Ahead
As the holiday season approaches, the excitement for Caribbean Mega Bounce builds. With its commitment to community support and a promise of unforgettable fun, it’s clear that this event is more than just a bounce house; it’s a celebration of resilience and joy. Will you be joining in the fun this Yuletide season?
